One is Gold and the Other is Silver: Spending time with Friends

sooo I'm long over due for some blogging time... life has been beautiful, hectic, and just everything in between. I have officially graduated and am enjoying my official summer as a post grad. i landed a teaching gig :), hooray for finding a job right after graduation! well with this career thing I plan on returning to school in the next 1.5 years for my masters in human development/education, so we'll see how this job pans out. as of late i haven't done anything too eventful, but i have accomplished one of my new years resolutions. This resolution was to get into contact with and reestablish a relationship with old friends and make mends with people who I had a falling out with in the past. I am proud to say I'm doing pretty good and I love these new beginnings. other than that i'm relaxing, but really should get a roll on studying for the cset/cbest -_______________- ugh don't even want to think of institutionalization... lol but yeah i will get my shit together!

well here's a recap via photos to bring this little blog and you all up to date :)

lunch date/shopping in Downtown SF with some girlfriends:  05.17.11
after a long afternoon of shopping we headed over to the SF Shopping Centre for some lunch at the wonderful Nordstrom Cafe.
on the elevator up, we got lazy and decided not to take the spiral escalator.
with my bff Kim
settling in with ali, sarah, and kim. nice cozy booth.
i had the lobster and crab bisque and fries :) really messy, but delish!
ali had the turkey blt if i remember correctly.
sarah also had a sandwich: grilled chicken something and kim had pasta.
at the end of our meal :) great day with great company

Well i think i will be cutting it here, since the next post is special to me: my little sister graduates from highschool :) so she deserves her own post!

until the next post ,
Shirley

Love is shared everyday, nothing means more to me than sharing time with you.

So obviously i'm totally late on this post too, but whatever i still want to share. so the boyfriend and i usually celebrate love day in a big way with fancy dinner and what not.. this year we decided to do something fun simple and unplanned. so check out the picture post.

the boyfriend with his little surprise

oh what could it be...

surprise! a new jersey :) what number could it be...?

28!!! Mr. Buster Posey our fave player, he's a newbie but the man has so much potential and he's already won R.O.Y! he's also very cute, too bad he's already married ;) j/k!

babe loves brownies so i decided to make him a special treat for him.

tada!! ninja turtle brownies, especially made for him :)

we chose the boiling crab, we like our seafood and that day we really craved something messy, yummy, and just simple

ready to eat!

the bf waiting for the food to come.

shrimp in the whole shabang spicy, babe's whole shabang dunguness crab, and mine very delicious garlic butter shrimp non-spicy.

the man literally ate the whole crab himself -_________- and then some.

look at him go... he pulverized the crab, shrimp, and gumbo... i'm surprised he didn't explode. lol

sweet potato fries!! so good :)

an upclose look at the details on my brownies. i didn't have an orange sprinkle so i improvised with yellow.

so thee wasn't suppose to be any surprises, but the bf got me a new hello kitty doll & flowers :) i made the bf a home made card and purchased a new phone case for him. really we weren't suppose to get gifts for one another, that was a fail, but better than the usual damage we do. lol

check out my valentine's day card :) it took me sometime figuring out how to make the right shape. lol

the ultimate surprise, a new iphone! seriously the bf failed and won. lol

ain't she a beaut?

so anyways, days like these aren't meant for buying gifts, rather spending time with the person you love and just appreciating one's company. i'm very lucky to have such a wonderfully kind boyfriend. we've been together for almost 5 years and there's never a dull moment, we've had our share of ups and downs just like any other couple; with him i've seen myself really grow as a person and i appreciate him so very much. he's really become my best friend and knows who i am, he can easily read through anything i try to put up and i love the way he makes me smile and has really opened my eyes to the world.

best of both worlds: brunch!

Had an opportunity to hang out with my friend K, we've been friends since I was in 7th grade; we've definitely been through our share of bs and drama but she's been there and I'm glad we reconnected. Had an opportunity to grab some brunch and catch up, I love how far we've come and always laugh about our former selves.

isn't the little logo adorable?
we both got omelets, i got the turkey sausage, mushroom, onions, and spinach.
she got the mexicali both were very good. the best part was our blueberry pancakes :)
we ended the day with some shopping and a stop at Schubert's <3

i love chill days...
