so the amazing amazing amazing city i live in won a world series championship :) and the stadium had a day set aside for the fans to come and hang out, get autographs, play games, and see the beauty they call the trophy.
first i would like to say i was disappointed in the lack of organization at the event, the lines were ridiculous! i can't even begin to describe the mayhem that ensued and how sad i was that so many people waited to only be shut down or turned away at the end of the event. the event began at 11am and lasted till only about 3pm...
the boyfriend and I started our day early at arrived promptly around 8:15am, there was already a line of about 200 people from where we stood to the gates of the ballpark... Once the ballpark gates opened, the line started moving- what really sucked was some people were such douche bags and ran up ahead and cut a lot of people. It was disappointing to see people who woke up so early and waited patiently get cut off by a bunch of dumb MF's -______- i was irritated and wanted to whack some people with a bat if i had a bat.
anyways onto the chaos that occurs after entering, there were way way too many people and there was no room for movement inside the stadium especially on the concession stand sections, people were left and right being squished in like sardines. people stopped to sample foods and enter in giveaways which was all in the path of walking and such that it took a good 35 minutes before the bf & i were able to maneuver through the crowd onto the field, from there we proceeded from the stands toward the field. the trek down in itself was crazy because there were so many closed areas and lines to tents where autographs were being signed. the experience was too much for me but well worth it in the end to see how happy my bf was. So to continue, we made our way down the stands, to the field, across the field to the other gate near the water where the trophy was located to only find out there was a separate outside line for the trophy. We than had to exit the ballpark and stand in another line for a good two hours. We stood in line with some pretty awesome people and the weather was beautiful so it made the waiting a little less torturous :). So here are the photos.

a view of where we began waiting, several minutes after we lined up the line grew to this and expanded towards the warehouses which aren't clearly visible.
the stadium faintly in the distant. luckily it was a gorgeous day!
the boyfriend already agitated because he hates heat.
the map of the day's happenings, totally not as organized as it looked here.
the crazy line from what i could see.
the boyfriend attempting to purchase tickets for opening day.
fans walking by
the stadium :)
another view of the line
getting closer :)
yay making our way towards the gates!
it felt like one of those scenes in movies when the lights from the heavens shine down and the heavenly "ahhhh" music plays.
absolute mayhem like i said...
taking a quick flick
at noon this is what the stadium began to look like.
yay finally we get out butts on the actual field, from where we looked- there was only like 2 openings from the stands down to the fields -_____-
at the other gate where we thought we could see the trophy -____-
the famous rally pumpkin!
a little closer in the trophy line.
ahh so close, they shut the gate right when we arrived at the entrance :[. had to wait another 20 minutes >____<
ahh so close...
ahh another line, so close yet so far
literally 2 minutes away from the trophy. woohoo!
BAM! at last we get to see the trophy, everything happened so quickly it only lasted like 30 seconds! but i'm glad the boyfriend had his opportunity to experience the greatness, he really is a die hard fan and he told me about watching the world series in 2002 when they lost and how devastated he was. all in all even with all the bumps, we had a great day!
this is another event to add to our adventure book.
